Foil Printing Process
01
UV Adhesive Printing
A UV-curable adhesive is printed onto the substrate in the exact pattern of the desired metallic design using a standard flexo or offset plate.
02
Foil Lamination
The cold stamping foil is brought into contact with the wet adhesive under pressure at the nip roller. No heat is required — the process runs at ambient temperature.
03
UV Curing
The assembly passes through a UV lamp station, instantly curing the adhesive and bonding the metallic layer to the substrate with exceptional adhesion.
04
Waste Stripping
The carrier film is peeled away, leaving the metallic foil only where adhesive was printed. The substrate continues inline for overprinting or finishing.
Frequently Asked
Questions
What is the MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) for cold foil?
Our standard MOQ is 1 roll per SKU (typically 3,000–6,000 linear meters depending on width). For new customers evaluating our products, we offer sample rolls at reduced quantities. Contact our sales team for project-specific MOQ flexibility.
Can I get free cold stamping foil samples for testing?
Yes. We provide free A4-sized sample sheets in all standard colors and finishes. For press-trial rolls, we offer subsidized sample rolls at cost price. Samples typically ship within 3 business days via DHL/FedEx.
What is the lead time for bulk orders?
Standard colors (Silver, Gold): 7–10 business days. Custom colors and holographic patterns: 15–20 business days. We maintain safety stock of high-demand SKUs for repeat orders with 3–5 day turnaround.
What is the difference between cold and hot stamping foil?
Cold stamping uses UV adhesive and pressure — no heat or metal dies required. This enables inline application at full press speed (up to 120 m/min), variable data metallization, and lower tooling costs. Hot stamping requires heated metal dies and is better suited for short-run, high-pressure embossed effects.
Which printing presses are compatible with your cold foil?
Our foils are engineered for inline compatibility with all major press platforms: Heidelberg, Bobst, Mark Andy, Nilpeter, Gallus, Omet and Gidue. We provide application guides and technical support for press optimization.
Do you offer OEM or private label services?
Yes. We offer full OEM services including custom core labeling, private label packaging, and bespoke adhesive formulations. Minimum OEM order: 50 rolls per SKU.
